What’s Brewing at CBD?
This morning, as I was filling up my reasonably sized mug, I had an opportunity to share some of my wisdom with Colleen. The coffee we have brewing in the kitchen today is called Indian Monsooned Malabar and she asked where the name came from. I explained to her that once these particular beans are harvested, they are then thrown back outside to be exposed to the weather during the Indian Monsoon Season. As the beans absorb the moisture of the windy air, they expand in size and take on a unique flavor.

“Cool,” she said. “You should really post about this on the blog!”
I hope you enjoyed this post, we hope to make “What’s Brewing at CBD” a regular on the blog.
I second the motion that this be a regular feature. It would go a long way toward educating (and entertaining) your customers and fellow coffee lovers!
I have had this Indian Monsooned Malabar. I roasted at city roast and it was very differnt “wild” I loved it my wife not so much.
Tried the Monsooned Malabar a while back and was real big on it. I don’t know what it is but my faves differ from time to time. I change faves about as often as I change coffee makers in search of that elusive ultimate cup. But the long story short is that as long as that elusive cup changes, I can’t go wrong (it’s the search that counts). It seems like I always bounce back to cbd’s tanzanian peaberry or Papua New Guinea. Both have much better consistancy that anything else I’ve found.
